Here's some shots from my new office as Director of Human Interface Development at Pemstar/Pacific Consultants, Inc.. While it's not quite as large as my Palo Alto office, I no longer need to have as much space because I no longer have to do everything! My view is onto a gorgeous park-like courtyard, where we have large Palms of different species and numerous large trees. I've already had an opportunity to observe the garderners service the big palms. I'd always wondered how they remove the dead fronds and sculpt the ball-like woody frond remains near the top. One gardener scales the tree and throws a rope over the top. Working with another gardener on the ground, they pull off dead fronds and groom the top. I put a good deal of my office furniture into storage and moved a bit more home to my home office. The rest I moved into my new office, where I was very happy to be able to be able to create a space that I was instantly comfortable in. Working with my new colleagues has been a real joy. Everyone is extremely talented, experienced, and friendly. In just two months I already feel at home. This was truly a miracle move for me. It's just what I'd dreamed of finding! |
